We believe some of the oldest ideas still are the best.
Like showing compassion in a troubled world. Since 1899, Immanuel has been a steady presence in our city. We’ve never left. Since 1919, our current Westport Road location has been our vantage point for serving others. Today, our people commute from the entire metro area. Our mission to people in need stretches from our own backyard to the developing world. The needs of others concern us in a real way.
We’re a church that doesn’t have all the answers.
We are sure of God’s grace and the strength it provides. But we think clarity in asking the right questions is more important than having all the answers, especially given the complex issues of our day. Together, we trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to center our worship and shape our daily lives. If you have special counseling needs, or would like additional information about baptism, marriage or joining the congregation, please speak with the pastor or ministry coordinator.

Lutheran worship, if it is new to you, is not a spectator sport. Count yourself an active participant. The historic liturgies and hymns from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book not only have shaped generations of believers, but they continue to reorient our own lives, as well. Our exceptional music ministry is here to inspire deeper faith. Our Bach Cantata Vespers Series and concert programs are for your enjoyment.

Our people are our greatest treasures. At Immanuel, you won’t find lives untarnished by sin or suffering. You will find people with the love of Christ in their hearts. We’re here because we feel called to be here to share the Savior’s love, and we welcome all regardless of race, sexual orientation or religious background. During worship, you’ll have the opportunity to greet those seated around you with the goodness or Peace of the Lord. Acquaint yourself with this congregation during coffee fellowship after church. Make yourself at home. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
