Immanuel Lutheran Church uses various methods to communicate with members and the larger community in ways that help us follow Christ’s instruction to “make disciples.” Members’ names and/or contact information may be published within those communication efforts. In some cases, photos of Immanuel people and events also may be published.
While those efforts are important to how we share the gospel, respecting your privacy and keeping your information secure are equally important.
That’s why this privacy policy was created – to describe Immanuel Lutheran Church’s current policies and practices with regard to members’ personal data. The term "personal data" refers to personally identifiable information about you, such as your name, birth date, e-mail address or mailing address, and any other information that identifies you personally.
How Immanuel Uses Your Personal Data
You may have provided Immanuel with personal data such as your mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address.
Immanuel uses the personal information you provide for the purposes for which it was originally collected – for example, to respond to your e-mail or note, or to provide communications/information via printed material, e-mail or through our web site. We also may use this information to contact you or others about organizations, programs, services, and other things we believe will be of interest to you, or to ask for your support.
Although Immanuel collects some data about children younger than 13, that information is closely guarded. Neither names nor contact information for children younger than 13 appear in Immanuel communication vehicles. Photos of children may appear, but the children will not be identified by name.
If you are 13 or older:
- Your name and contact information may appear in The Parish News, the official publication of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
- Your photo may appear in The Parish News or on www.immanuellkc.org. The caption with the photo may or may not identify you by name.
- Your name may appear as a contact in Immanuel’s online church calendar, in postings on www.immanuelkc.org, or in e-mail communication. Your address and contact information will not appear in any of these electronic venues.
- Your name, contact information and/or photo may appear on bulletin boards inside the church or in the announcement section of our weekly worship-service bulletins.
Immanuel will comply with any copyright or other legal requirements that may apply to the use of photos and contact information.
Immanuel will not share your personal information with third parties.
Contact Immanuel to Withdraw Your Consent
If you do not consent to Immanuel’s use of your personal data as described in this privacy policy, download the opt-out form, or contact the church office to request a copy. Complete the form, and return it to the church office.

Notification of Changes to this Policy
From time to time, Immanuel improves and adds new functionality and features to its web site, e-mail network, and other communication services and programs. Because of these ongoing changes, changes in the law and the changing nature of technology, Immanuel’s data practices will change from time to time. If and when our data practices change, we will post the changes on www.immanuelkc.org. We encourage you to check the web site.
